Join us each week as we (Becs, Julie and Kate and Anthony) take you on a journey through what we are reading and share our love of literature.

Get involved by emailing the studio us at theradiobookclub@googlemail.com and tell us what books or authors you like and even suggest a theme for one of the shows. Each week we play music to go along with the chosen theme so suggest a song to go with the theme.

Every week there’s a chance to win a book so tune in to the show for details.

Hopefully we’ll hear from you soon. Keep reading and listening!

This Thursday will be our Christmas Special where Julie, Becs and I will be discussing everyone’s favorite Christmastime author Cecilia Ahern and her amazing new novel “The Time of My Life”!

In the spirit of the season however why not take a look at our fellow pulser Neil’s blog and help him do his bit for charity this year…..http://scottishfiction.blogspot.com!

Tune in this Thursday for all the book clubs Christmas News!!!!

Tonight we’re discussing those classics ‘The Scarlet Pimpernel’ and ‘Emma’ by Baroness Orczy and Jane Austen respectively.

Scarlet Pimpernel laid the groundwork for such characters as Zorro and more importantly BATMAN and Emma inspired that classic piece of cinema; Clueless starring Alicia Silverstone and Paul Rudd

Tonight’s pleasantly vague theme is…Journeys! Even if Becs did tell Kate it was New Beginnings……..

On the show tonight we’re featuring a range of treats for our loyal listeners, some of you will recognize the return of an old favorite in reviews and I think we’re all relieved to hear the return of Glee! Chat

So now we’re all grown up university freshers we thought we’d let you in on some of the fun we can look forward to in the next four years (except for Kate’s next four years cause lets face it we start discussing law you’re all turning off) so with a reveal-off from Becs and Julie based on Frankenstein and the revisiting of an old classic in Kate’s review of Emma, by Jane Austen you’d have to be crazy not to tune in!!!

With reviews of books such as “Nineteen Minutes”, “The Perfect Match” and “Salem Falls” tonight’s going to be a good one so tune in and get the Jodi Picoult low down!

The radibookclub has left school! To celebrate we will discuss rites of passage this week

Robert FrostTruman Capote

Dexter (movie)

Matt Wuerker

Jeff Lindsay

Because it was Pancake Tuesday this week we will be discussing food. Rachael is pining for chips, so here’s a wee piccy for you:

This week we will be discussing plays because we had planned to have our drama teacher on but she’s ill :(

We will not be discussing Hamlet, but David Tennant was in it so here’s a picture:

Tonights theme is everything out-doorsy in honor of our special guest Sarah Brady an animal fanatic who will be heading to the Amazon Rain Forest later this year.

So tune in for authors such as Eric Night, Frances Hodgson Burnett and Johan David Wyss.

Welcome

We talk books and every Thursday from 6pm - 8pm
